Adding or changing computers
Setting up a client (work station) in Windows
Autoexec.bat and config.sys
Include a path statement as follows in Autoexec.bat
path=c:\notes;c:\notes\data;p:\cmds
If using Latam, include a line in config.sys as follows:
Files=100
User Account On Server
Be sure the name of the client is registered on the Server (MR_Server).
If the user you are setting up is brand new, you must create a user account for them on MR_Server. This is done using
User Manager for Domains
in the
Administrative Tools
submenu of the start menu. Follow these steps

2. Then and fill in the blanks which should be reasonably self-explanatory. Use the computer name (eg. WS20) for both the Username and Full Name fields, unless it is a solicitor in which case you can put their real name in the Full Name field.
3. Click "Password Never Expires" on, and "User Must Change Password at Next Logon" off. Click "Groups" and add the user to the MRUsers group.

6. The next task in network configuration is to add the network drives N:, P:, F:, by clicking "Map Network Drive" in Windows Explorer and connecting

7. Solicitors should also have J: connected to "\\whitestar\cd_rom_j" and K: connected to "\\whitestar\cd_rom_k". You should be sure that you select the option to reconnect these drives at the next logon.

9. Share the root folder of the user's C: drive by right-clicking it and selecting Share. In the window that comes up share the folder as WSX$, where WSX is the workstation ID. The password for full access should be 9WSX7 (where WSX is the workstation ID again). Other computers can then connect to the computer's C: drive by running \\WSX\WSX$.
